Opt-outs and consent

Who you may message, how someone stops it, and what the law expects of you.

Last updated 24 October 2026

You need a reason to message someone

A customer who messaged you first is straightforward — they started it. Anyone else needs to have agreed: a form on your website, a line on the intake sheet, a reply of YES to an in-chat question. When you set up, Waba91 asks how you collect that, and it is worth answering honestly.

A list of numbers you bought is not consent. Meta will find out, and the penalty lands on your WhatsApp account, not ours.

Stopping

A customer who replies STOP is opted out immediately, and in Telugu and Hindi too, not only English. Waba91 stops messaging them and the inbox shows it. There is nothing for you to remember and no way to send to them by accident afterwards.

They can start again simply by messaging you.

What you must not send

Your customers’ data

You own it. You can export your conversations, and you can ask us to delete them — the pages at Privacy and Delete my data set out exactly what we hold and for how long.

Under India’s DPDP Act the business that collected the data is responsible for it. That is you; we process it for you.
